At the end of 2011, I weighed 143kg, was overweight, drank, smoked and fairly sure I would become a heart attack statistic within 2 years,
Instead of waiting for the inevitable, I finally made changes to my lifestyle, took up exercise, watched what I ate, and made better overall choices.
In June 2013 I completed my first marathon. in April 2014, I ran in the London Marathon for the Heart Foundation. in July 2014, I completed my third marathon in 13 months.
Starting in May 2015, I will be crossing Australia on foot, travelling over 5400km from Perth to Brisbane, via Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney,
The aim is to raise awareness of the Heart Foundations message and mission, and to raise $1 million to help them in their work.
Ordinary people really can do extraordinary things, and embracing an active lifestyle will have a positive impact on your life.
